MumNet’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) is just around the corner, taking place on Tuesday, January 24 at Junction establishment 3030 Dundas West. This isn’t some boring meeting – we’ve invited Toronto sexpert, Nadine Thornhill to share how to best navigate “the talk” with kids. It’s a chance to learn something new, nosh, and network. Here’s why you should attend:
-
Play a meaningful role in YOUR organization
As a member- and volunteer-based non-profit, we value your opinion. Our active members – those in a leadership role within their MumNet group – are entitled to vote at the AGM on items that will inform the direction of the organization going forward. Not in a leadership role? Learn more about the organization that supports you in motherhood. -
Get prepped for an important parent-child conversation
Toronto sexpert, Nadine Thornhill, is our guest speaker at the event. Drawing on her experience as both an educator and parent, she’ll give you a heads up on how to navigate talking to your kids about sex in age-appropriate ways for whenever that conversation drops in your household. -
Connect with MumNet moms from across the city
The MumNet connections don’t need to stop at your group or at the end of your group’s weekly meet-up. With locations across the city, the AGM is an opportunity for you to network with other MumNet members and alumni outside of the meet-up setting, both within your group and within the wider MumNet-work. -
Enjoy some nibblies and have some refreshments, uninterrupted
When was the last time you ate or drank what you wanted, when you wanted? The AGM is a kid-free (though breastfeeding babes are of course welcome), food and beverage-filled zone. Bon appetite. -
Consider it a bonus number of child-free hours in your week
Each week, MumNet offers you two hours of mom-to-mom time. If you attend the AGM, you’ll get a bonus of (at minimum) two hours. Just a little gift from MumNet to you for rocking motherhood the way you do.
